Format
Het WK quizzen is een jaarlijks georganiseerd kampioenschap volgens een vaste formule. Op 1 dag vindt in elk deelnemend land (minstens) 1 manche plaats, waar quizzers uit dat land (en eventueel de buurlanden) gedurende 4 uur hun hoofd kunnen breken op 240 vragen (wereldwijd dezelfde vragen, aangeboden in de plaatselijke taal). De vragen worden verdeeld over 8 categorieën (Entertainment, Sport & Leisure, History, Sciences, Culture, Lifestyle, Media, World) van elk 30 vragen. De uiteindelijke score wordt bepaald door alles op te tellen, met uitzondering van de slechtste categorie. Hierdoor bekomt men dus een totaal van 210 punten.

Historiek
In 2004 werd het eerste WK Quiz georganiseerd. Een driehonderdtal quizzers uit 6 deelnemende landen (België, Verenigd Koninkrijk, Estland, India, Maleisië en Nederland) namen toen deel. Intussen is de eerste zaterdag van juni het wereldwijde strijdtoneel voor zo'n 1800 quizzers uit een 40-tal landen van de 5 continenten.
